Prison ministry outreach programs
Prison Ministry
The Prison Ministry at Green Lakes Baptist Church is led by Andrew and Pam Wood,
both retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections, bringing decades of
experience, insight, and understanding into the correctional environment. Their
background allows them to minister with credibility, wisdom, and respect, meeting
individuals where they are with clarity and compassion. Together, they lead this ministry with a deep belief in redemption and transformation through Jesus Christ.
As part of their work, Andrew and Pam teach the Inside-Out Dads program, a
nationally recognized initiative designed to help incarcerated fathers develop character,
accountability, and healthier relationships with their children while inside prison.
They also offer a Partners in Parenting program that promotes effective parenting by
strengthening communication skills, helping parents understand children’s needs at
each developmental stage, and guide them in using positive discipline strategies.
In addition, Andrew and Pam conduct a worship service inside the prison facility on
the first Sunday of each month, offering biblical teaching, encouragement, and
spiritual support. Through consistent presence, thoughtful instruction, and faithful care,
the Prison Ministry reflects Green Lakes Baptist Church’s commitment to restoration,
dignity, and hope for every life.
